Timescape No.1 was created for the Walpodenkalender 2022 at the Mainzer Kunstverein Walpodenstraße 21 e.V. The work was also presented in 2024 at LTK 4 in Cologne as a four-channel audio installation. Nails inserted into candles slowly fall onto a set of metal surfaces. As the candle burns down, the nails fall causing an amplified sound. This performance explores the duration of an instant and a flexible time that has more in common with fire than with the ticking of our clocks.
