The European Academy of Fine Arts has been located on the grounds of the city of Trier's slaughterhouse since 1993. Some architectural details still mark the original history of today's art venue.​

For the joint sound installation "tRier" - the title links place and purpose - the artists were interested in the tower of the academy. The narrow interior with three floors connected by a staircase inspired them for an acoustic dialogue. The incessant "speech" from the inaccessible top floor - audible gunshots - are answered from time to time by a chorus of animal voices from below: final (dis)expressions.
